Selection Procedure

UPPSC PCS Paper Pattern & Exam Scheme
Preliminary Exam Pattern
- The Preliminary Examination will include two mandatory papers conducted offline using OMR sheets.
- The questions in both papers will be objective-type (multiple-choice).
- Each paper will carry a total of 200 marks and have a duration of two hours.
- Paper II will serve as a qualifying exam, requiring candidates to score at least 33% to pass.
- There is a negative marking for both papers, where 1/3 of the assigned marks for a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Paper I – General Studies I: This section consists of objective-type questions that cover a wide range of subjects, including history, geography, political science, economics, general science, environmental studies, and current affairs.
- Paper II – General Studies II (CSAT): This paper also follows the objective format and assesses candidates’ skills in areas such as reading comprehension, interpersonal abilities, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, basic mathematics, and data interpretation.

- On the homepage, look in the Candiadte’s Corner Section. Under this, select the download admit card tab.
- Then, search for the link for “UPPSC PCS Admit Card” and click on it.
- Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth/Password in the login fields.
- Click on the “Submit” button to proceed.
- The admit card will be displayed on the screen. Review all details carefully.
- Click on the “Download” button to save the admit card in PDF format.
- Print out multiple copies of the admit card.
