The Railway Recruitment Board will conduct the recruitment examination for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts. The authority will fill 5696 vacancies across various regions in India. The authority accepted the online application forms from eligible candidates. Now the authority will conduct the examination for those candidates who have applied for this position.
The E-Call letters (Admit Cards) will be available for download four days before the exam date. All candidates must download and carry their RRB ALP Admit Cards to appear in the first stage CBT (CBT-1) scheduled from 25 to 29 November 2024. To access the admit card, they must enter the login credentials.
Candidates from the SC/ST categories will have access to Travel Authority letters, which will be made available 10 days before the exam through the official website. This link will also provide information about the city and date of the exam for candidates’ convenience.

RRB ALP Selection Process
The selection process consists of multiple stages. Each stage plays an important role in selecting the best candidates for the final selection. Candidates must read out the given details to know about the selection process.
First Stage CBT (CBT-1): This is a qualifying stage. It consists of multiple-choice questions covering subjects like Mathematics, General Science, and Mental Ability.
Second Stage CBT (CBT-2): Divided into Part A and Part B. Part A focuses on general subjects, while Part B covers trade-specific topics.
Document Verification: Candidates who clear CBT-2 are called for document verification. Original certificates must be presented for eligibility confirmation.
Medical Examination: The final step involves a medical fitness test to ensure candidates are medically fit to work as Assistant Loco Pilots.
Examination Schedule
The CBT-1 exam is scheduled to be conducted between 25 and 29 November 2024, with admit cards becoming available for download starting from 22 November 2024 onwards. - All questions in this exam will be asked in multiple-choice format (MCQs).
- A total of 75 questions will be asked.
- Each correct answer will award 1 mark to the candidate.
- The total time duration for the exam will be 1 hour.
- For one incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 1/3rd mark.

Second Stage CBT (CBT-2)
- The exam will be divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.
- Part A will contain 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Each correct answer in Part A will earn 1 mark.
- The time duration for Part A will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Part B will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions.
- For each correct answer in Part B, candidates will receive 1 mark.
- Part B must be completed within 60 minutes.
- This exam has a negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer.
